Its interior design is more prohibition era New York than Mayfair gentlemen's club… and try as you might, you won’t find another hotel in this city (or the world) with an Antony Gormley sculpture sticking out its facade. It’s different, and appealing to those who prefer timeless designs to flash- in- the- pan bling bling looks. For the hotel’s unique atmosphere the owners drew up the story of an American Hotelier escaping the prohibition in London and the result is a world of its own. There’s a bonafide 1920’s Barber shop, beautiful chauffeur-driven house car for emissions-free local trips. In other words it’s a time-capsule to America’s roaring 20’s. Dark cherry wood panelling, original artworks, and row upon row of photographs of socialites and stars from the 1920’s line the walls and give off the period era authenticity.
