The breezy rooms set amid tumbles of greenery like garden dens is the stuff of travel dreams, but look more closely and you’ll also find that they are some of the eco-savviest around, with solar panels and natural materials throughout. Think towels made of bamboo fiber, hand-crafted artisanal furnishings and wooden decks worth the climb for those sweeping views of the ocean and the surrounding gardens. The only pops of color come courtesy of tropical materials in earthy tones of peppery red and turmeric yellow, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a prettier bolthole this side of St Barth. Then, of course, it would not be a Caribbean hideaway without an oceanfront pool, and the hotel’s sky-reflecting one, perfectly oval in shape, delivers with aplomb. For more water therapy, the walkable beach just beyond, with surf sounds calming enough to lull you to sleep, provides the perfect backdrop for those rum punches to insanely gorgeous Caribbean sunsets. Finish the day at the Manapany Restaurant where barefoot dining happens in all its glory, and the fish tartare and grilled lobster are among the best you’ll ever have.
