The hotel at a glance
Chic, fun, sassy, elegant, we could fill up this page with adjectives describing this little beauty but we will let the pictures take over instead. If you’re looking forward to spending time in an ode to Britain's future instead of its past, then the Haymarket hotel will leave a lasting impression on you.
With contemporary designs that flirt between playfulness and full blown elegance, the Haymarket is the perfect hotel to visit if you are into Kit Kemp’s distinctive style which can include anything from mismatching colours, giant heads, and an abundance of chintz (she does better justice to her work than we do). No matter how odd all this seems on paper, Kemp manages to make disparate elements merge effortlessly, the true signs of a master.
Rooms here are uber-comfortable and laugh at the Art Deco and regal atmosphere of other London five stars with their contemporary English vibe and playfulness. It’s impossible not to feel an instant injection of happiness when you put your suitcase down on the carpet and we have yet to find a better cure for jet lag than these upbeat designs. And upbeat you will need to be! There’s an abundance of things to do in and around the hotel. The theatre district is replete with.. well.. theatres, but it also got enough cafes, bars and shopping to reduce your credit card to ashes and the Haymarket is the perfect launch pad for all these attractions.
The hotel’s funky Brumus bar provides an excellent pre or post theatre meal in a relaxed and outgoing atmosphere and if you just want to make the most of your temporary home, the guest areas are welcoming and conducive to discussions with other residents. Sit down in the conservatory for one of the coolest backdrops to the traditional English afternoon tea we’ve experienced and the pastries and cakes are an absolute delight.
Other perks include the Soholistic spa and gym, with the former incorporating the holistic temple spa treatments and if you’ve ever wanted to have a splash in a private pool with some friends, the Haymarket has one for hire, complete with a private bar and staff.
If you’re looking for a hotel with a relaxed vibe without skimping on the luxury, the Haymarket will fit the bill perfectly.
