When the Four Seasons commissioned Pierre Yves Rochon to revamp this Park Lane address they were clearly aiming for different and the superstar designer doesn't’ disappoint.

Rochon’s designs prove that when it comes to elegant hotel interiors, red is clearly the new black. Red velvet Louis XVI chairs, red lacquered vases, and crimson walls offset by sleek black marble and sculpted white murals… the Four Seasons’ designs are as sleek and sexy as they come. The city’s business types love to come here, clinking glasses of champagne at the Amaranto bar after work or closing deals around afternoon tea in the lounge. Service is excellent as you’d expect from the Four Seasons, thanks to attentive yet unobtrusive staff and the rooms are reassuringly cosy with their traditional meets contemporary designs. For the wow factor, head for the spa. Whether it’s the therapies on offer ( the best of which is clearly, the four hands massage) or the sauna, the spa’s location on the upper floors of the hotel offers one of the best views of Hyde Park you’ll find anywhere in London.

    Spectacular hotel. The rooms were especially beautiful, though they tend toward the smallish size. The public areas were grand, on a human scale. The staff were uniformly excellent, but we would like to identify Peter, a waiter at Amarento, who was especially fabulous. His enthusiasm for Four Seasons was certainly admirable, and he was willing to spend some time with us discussing a variety of subjects. His service, his attention to us and to detail, was exceptional. He deserves special praise!
