Background

Ezio Attilio Indiani was appointed general manager of the Hotel Principe di Savoia, part of the Dorchester Collection, on July 2005. He is recognized worldwide as a leading figure in luxury hotel management and has worked at some of the most prestigious hotels in the world in the course of his 25-year career. By combining managerial talent with Italian creativity, he has brought the properties under his leadership to top levels of international excellence. In recognition of his ability, in 2002 he received the Hermes Prize as the “Best Hotel Director” in the world, the highest award given in the deluxe hotel category.

Before taking up his position at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, Ezio was director of the Hotel Villa d’Este of Cernobbio, Italy, from 2004-2005. There he introduced substantial innovations in both infrastructure and services, and at the same time improved business performance in terms of sales, profits, and occupancy rates.

The previous seven years, Ezio directed the Hotel Des Bergues of Geneva, at that time a member of Britain’s Forte Group and a symbol of Swiss hospitality. Under his management, the hotel was completely revamped, a transformation that earned it an award as “Best Luxury Hotel in Switzerland” at the World Trade Market.

Ezio’s career with the Forte Group began in 1987 when he moved to London to become Vice Director General of the Hyde Park Hotel. He has also managed two Forte properties in Italy -- Hotel Eden of Rome and Grand Hotel Palazzo della Fonte of Fiuggi, strengthening each financially and transforming them into icons of international hospitality.

Ezio’s background includes significant food & beverage experience with some of the world’s most prestigious hotel properties. He was Vice Director General, responsible for food & beverage, of the Casa de Campo complex in the Dominican Republic, and Food & Beverage Director of the Hotel Cavalieri Hilton International of Rome.

Ezio’s career began at the Hotel Atlantic of Hamburg, Germany, after which he moved to Hilton hotels in Milan and London in positions of increasing responsibility and visibility.
