Palais Coburg Residenz

The Palais Coburg was built in the period 1840-45 by Duke Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha on the 'Brown Bastion' - a part of the city defences dating back to the 16th century. A large part of the Renaissance fortification has been preserved for us today. The palais Coburg has been restored with great sensitivity to the historic importance of the building and transformed, with an equal love of detail, into a place to be enjoyed and in which to relax. The guiding principle of "Preserving the past - shaping the future" is a living reality at the Palais Coburg. Following this slogan, the guest is frequently reminded in the Suites of the historic setting in which he is staying, whilst at the same time he does not have to forego the quality and comforts of a luxury-class hotel.
